Opioid Crisis
Help & Resources
Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County is committed to safeguarding the health and future of our youth amid the ongoing opioid crisis. The rise of opioids, particularly fentanyl, has significantly impacted our community, posing serious risks to the safety and well-being of young people and families across Manatee County.
Our efforts to combat this crisis are made possible through the dedicated support of local partners, including the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners, law enforcement agencies, and numerous not-for-profit organizations. These collaborations have been instrumental in expanding outreach, education, and prevention initiatives, ensuring that our youth and families are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to stay safe.
In response to this urgent crisis, all staff members have completed Narcan training, enabling us to respond swiftly and effectively in the event of an overdose. Additionally, our properties are fully stocked with Narcan kits, ensuring that lifesaving intervention is readily available should it be needed.
This is a pivotal moment for Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County and our community. The Department of Prevention and Outreach is actively and aggressively addressing the opioid crisis head-on, prioritizing youth development and safety. Together, with our partners, donors, and community members, we are committed to creating a safer, healthier environment where our young people can thrive and realize their full potential.
We invite you to learn more, get involved, and support our ongoing efforts to combat opioid and fentanyl abuse. Together, we can turn the tide and build a stronger, more resilient Manatee County for generations to come.
